What has become a habit in our daily lives is now a useful and interesting opportunity, even when the product in question is not a car, or an item of clothing, but a motor pump to be installed in a circuit or inserted in a design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Calpeda\u2019s reasoning behind developing and implementing its <a href=\"https:\/\/en.pump-selector.calpeda.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">pump selector <\/a>is to put clients at the centre, offer them an additional contact and interaction point for a knowledgeable, personalised purchase experience. It is not a question of replacing the advice of the company\u2019s technical team, but of offering a tool that allows individuals to autonomously find the most suitable pump for their requirements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The advantages are evident, starting from time management. The pump selector is available 24 hours a day, so users can configure easily from their own personal device at any time of day, gaining immediate access to all the necessary information and the opportunities that are in line with the requested function. Clients therefore have a clear, detailed view of the product and make their own assessments before choosing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How does the pump selector work?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The starting point for selecting an ideal pump is the <strong>hydraulic characteristics<\/strong>, in other words the flow rate and the head.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After indicating where the pump is to be used, the pump selector can choose the models that are best suited to the required performance. Each pump has its own characteristic curve, namely a graphic representation of the relationship between the flow rate and the head. A very interesting aspect, by the way, is that the curve created by the pump selector considers hydraulic performance even at the intermediate points, so it is much more specific that the curves published in the catalogue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The configurator also makes pre-selection possible: in addition to flow rate and head, users can indicate the <strong>application field<\/strong>, the<strong> pump family<\/strong>, the <strong>frequency<\/strong> and <strong>motor phases<\/strong>, the <strong>pump body material<\/strong>, all of which help reduce the list of selectable models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>From selection to customisation<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The step after selection is model personalisation. The configurator allows users to modify a series of elements, updating the pump curve accordingly if performance progress is influenced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If, for example, the pump is estimated to be oversize, the<strong> impeller diameter <\/strong>can be decreased, so containing energy consumption and costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The i<strong>mpeller<\/strong> and <strong>shaft <\/strong>material can be chosen according to the application and type of fluid to be moved by the pump; the type of <strong>mechanical seal <\/strong>can also be personalised and a <strong>higher IP<\/strong> <strong>rating<\/strong> than the standard one can be evaluated.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clients can choose the <strong>voltage<\/strong>, and the pump selector calculates the value of the current for managing the power panels and the connections accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the <strong>motor winding can be tropicalized<\/strong> so as to make it more suitable for use with an inverter.
