The Calpeda pumps arrived in Eritrea, in the region of Anseba. Volunteers from the Italian association “Il Tucul” are working for the water supply in the villages of Hamedei and Gizga.
For Hamedei the new aqueduct has already been completed and the system is serving many families, that were forced to walk for more than 4 km to fetch water.
Even Gizga, where the inhabitants were forced to cover about 15 kilometers to the drinking water, the work is progressing in full swing. The facility, once completed, will serve Gizga, eight other neighboring villages, the school and the small local health center.
