Calpeda Limited, a subsidiary of Calpeda S.p.A and member of the Calpeda Group, it is responsible for the sales, service and distribution of all Calpeda products throughout the UK and Ireland. The company operates from two sites in the UK, its HQ in Bicester, Oxfordshire and its regional sales office in Castleford, West Yorkshire. Ireland is covered through its subsidiary operation Calpeda Pumps Ireland Limited located in Dublin.
The Bicester facility also features a pump packaging and booster set production unit, producing over 400 booster sets each year, 1, 2, 3, and 4 pump configurations, both fixed and variable speed.
The start of 2013 brought about the implementation of a new computerised operating system – SAP, linked directly with Calpeda’s group HQ and main production centre in Vicenza. On the 2nd of January a team from Calpeda Informatica, Calpeda’s specialist computer division, arrived in the UK to run the system for the first time, the culmination over 12 months data and technological preparation by UK and Italian staff.
The new system, now in operation for just three months, has certainly presented Financial & Commercial Director, David White and his team, led by Laura Cowley – Office Manager with some serious challenges. David however noted that SAP is a key component in the Calpeda UK growth strategy, and Laura sees the new system as a means to improving the company’s commercial and sales operations, whilst providing and even better service to customers, especially as we roll out the bar code scanning and CRM components in the coming months.
